Yahoo Mail Time Stamp?

Why is it that the time stamp on yahoo emails I recieve are often many hours different from the time the email was actually sent?

How many hours off is it, and how many time zones are you from the prime meridian at Greenwich?

I have no idea how many time zones but ok that seems to be the explanation.
