i'm bummed that the ABC History Podcast Cooee: the history of a call, isn't available internationally, i mean i can listen on line, but i like being able to download and listen, something about copyright laws because of the music
On January 1838, state premiers celebrated 50 years of colonisation.
The Sydney Gazette highlighted the success of colonisation by comparing the “untutored savage” and “miserable gunya of the wandering Aborigine” with the white “industrious and civilised man” in an “extensive and flourishing town”.
Meanwhile, about 100 Aborigines gathered in Sydney for a day of mourning and protest about their treatment
I believe the Aussies have worked hard to rectify the past maltreatment of the native population. Fair dinkum?
In any case, some of my dearest friends on this forum are antipods
I think the Wabbit First Fleeters were as reluctant as the convict ones.
