So this is probably impossible from the the amount of information I have. My mother has been looking, well not looking talking to me trying to get me to look for, a series of books.
She has no author, nor does she have a title. When asked what information she does have, this is what I am given:
The series is 7 books long.
It is full of dragons and faeries and all sort of the same
It is not set on earth, but the characters find a "rift" / "black hole" kind of thing and are sent to some place resembling Japan.
This is all the information I have been given. It is all that she can remember. She has talked about it for years and I figured that with so many readers around here someone might have a small idea of what this book series is. Again, sorry for the lack of information.
Seed, this might be the books for which you are searching.
Not quite it. She says that it is close but not it.
It is a series of 7 books not 4.
She remembered more though:
A wizard, may or may not have been Merlin.
An apprentice, who she remembers practicing by a pond or a lake.
A dragon with a sword. The dragon or the sword was encrusted with jewels
Could it be The Martian Chronicles, Seed?
No, she doesn't think that is it either. She said she found the series around 1986. And something about the Castle being on a cliff and not attack able from that side.
how old is the series?
were there seven books when she read them and there might be more now?
She read them around 1986
You can enter the information you have and it will help you find it, who has it for sale, and hows much they are selling it for.
Here is the link to the "booksleuth" part...
I have found many books on this site.
See if maybe it refers to a series of novels by Anne McCaffrey about the dragon riders of Pern. The story is that a colonizing expedition heads out, lands on this planet, and then gets cut off from the home civilization. I won't tell you the rest because it would spoil the story. Even if this is not the one, i found the stories and novels highly entertaining, so you might want to check it out. Go to the library and do a search by the author's name.
