How good is a score of 231 on the PSAT?

I live in California. I just received my scores from the PSAT, and I earned a 231. I was curious about how high my score is compared to PSAT semifinalists and finalists. Would it be sufficient to become a finalist?

It's pretty high, citizen457.
The average score for tenth graders is about 42 in Critical Reading, 44 in Mathematics, and 41 in Writing Skills. The scores range from 20 to 80 for each
individual subject. The sum of all three components will make up your score which can be anywhere from 60 to 240 being the highest. So your score is pretty darn perfect, congratulations! Very Happy
