Story
His sad songs seem tragic now.
I don't know that I've ever heard about him. Still sad. How does one stab oneself to death?
Is this the guy who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song for Good Will Hunting?
Damn. Damn. Got most of his albums at home. Didnae hear about this, though. Damn.
(As to stabbing oneself -- hate to be morbid, but the poet Steven Jesse Bernstein stabbed himself upwards of 40 times, and filmed it, so it can be done.)

Because he was a Portlander we had a huge write up in our paper today.
I love the fact that he changed his name from Steven because he though it sounded like a jock's name.
Great writer, weird death.
He fought alcohol and drug addiction for a long time. He claimed that his songs were not autobiographical, but listen to the lyrics closely. They my not presage his demise but they give an insight into his private torment.
