hello, I'm trying to recall a short science fiction story I read back in the 60's, it may be even older of course, about a robot that inadvertently kept its master out of the camp, and the master's fight against the robot's intelligence in order to get back in. I can't remember what the answer was which enabled the master to outwit the robot. Maybe someone can help.

Robert Sheckley's short story. There was no "answer"... after several attempts he just crawled into the camp
. By not responding to the robot's [Max] questions, the A.I. presumed it was an animal, therefore represented no potential danger to the camp.
