From the History Channel:
In 1966, one Carlos Hathcock was a famed US Marine Sniper,
upon whose head the commies had placed a $30,000 bounty,
according to US Army Intelligence. A commie sniper called
"the Cobra" came south from North Vietnam
to collect it by taking Hathcock out.
The communist system is supposed to be anti-incentive,
anti-individualist, yet "the Cobra" endeavored to enrich
himself with the commie bounty. Hunting Hathcock,
thay were effectively in a duel, to see which sniper
woud prevail. The commie Cobra 's Russian PU sniperscope
glinted in the setting sunlight, as he was aiming west.
Hathcock saw the glint on the objective lens of the
commie scope and he shot the glint, about 300 yards away
such that his .308 slug penetrated the Red's sniperscope
without touching the steel tube and thru the lenses into
the commie 's right eye, taking out the side of his head,
thereby ending the duel. However, his leftist eye was OK.
That 's what the commie got for being so individualistically minded
as to go bounty hunting.
