...that are illustrated in the children's book Bats at the Library.

The first is a flying bed, and the bat (imitating a character in the book) is saying "no more melted cheese for me, no!"

I actually wrote the author, and the image is indeed from Dreams of the Rarebit Fiend, a collection of cartoons by Winsor McKay.
