Any regular listeners? its a CBC(Canadian) radio show on Sunday afternoons. its quite odd but very entertaining. he tells fictional stories about normal things in life mixed with some musical performances. I find my self laughing every episode.

Apparently, A2K doesn't want me to tell you how much I enjoy the Vinyl Cafe. I've got a couple of the books of the collected stories. I can soooooo hear Stuart when I'm reading them.
I've been known to sit in the car and listen to the end of an episode, instead of getting on with my life.

As a result of the show, I was able to contribute to the release of the collected Stringband c.d.'s. That meant a lot to me.

"Apparently, A2K doesn't want me to tell you how much I enjoy the Vinyl Cafe." what does this mean? have i missed out on something?

Stuarts voice and manner is very much apart of what gives the show its IT-ness. if i ever get around to reading one of his books i know it will be almost impossible to hear anyone elses voice.

I think EVERYONE who listens to that show eventually finds themselves sitting parked in their driveway contemplating weather or not they can make it to the radio in the house with out missing too much Very Happy

CinderWolf - i was having trouble getting that post to stick. It's probably since I've been away for a week and was using the wrong box.

I'm listening to Stuart McLean on the CBC right now, narrating something which appears to be the history of Canada, accompanied by symphony. I missed the beginning so will have to check on the CBC website.

I have a friend who I KNEW was a friend when she also admitted to sitting in the car listening to Stuart.

I love his stories. I too have sat in the car listening to Mr. Mclean. There have even been times at -30 when I cursed him and his cleverness for keeping me hanging on his every word. I want to visit the vinyl cafe so badly. Too bad it's only on the radio.
