(15a^4-3a^3+4a^2+4) divided by (3a^2-1)
15a^4 = 15a to the 4th power. etc.
it's hard to write all the work out but I'm getting stuck at the -3. I can do synthetic division but I get stuck at the 4.
@brokencdplayer,
factorise the numerator and denominator then simplify
@brokencdplayer,
Be sure to put zeros in for the missing powers of a
(15a^4 - 3a^3 + 4a^2 +
0a + 4) / (3a^2 +
0a -1)
It didn't divide evenly. I ended up with a remainder of (-a+7)
