Can we compromise and agree that Fess Parker kilt a bar when he was only 3?

I remember fondly the Daniel Boone show coming on TV in the early 70's ... I sang the song loudly and proudly: "Daniel Boone was a man, was a biiiiiiiiig man, and he fought for America to make all Americans freeeeee."

Davey Crockett I remember, but not so much.

@edgarblythe,
Either of the two rear doors of an old Lincoln Continental.
They swung open to the rear.

I have to add to George, on the suicide doors. All or most of the really old cars had these doors.

@edgarblythe,
Only ones I ever saw were on Billy Ferruzzi's dad's Town Car.
(Mr. Ferruzzi also had a pencil-thin mustache.)

@George,
No, edgar's right. I remember seeing that design on a number of old cars (especially European-made, I think). But I never knew they were called suicide doors. Maybe it wasn't a Bostonian expression.

Possibly.
Any door on the side away from the curb qualifies for the name in Boston.

It may be hard to see, but this was our family car when I was six. Dodge Victory Six, perhaps '28 or '29 model. Suicide doors in back.

@edgarblythe,
I was thinking about a documentary discussing the popularity of car culture after Ford started to push the manufacturing of cars via the assembly lines.

The film noted the increase in the popularity of camping was boosted with the ability to drive far distances.
