I'd been enjoying some darjeeling tea bags someone gave me, so I decided to purchase some when I was ready to order my green tea.

I had a choice to order "first flush" or "second flush", not knowing what the difference in taste would be, I order a little of both. When reading the descriptions (1st flush more astringent, 2nd flush more muscatel) Here's a link describing was muscatel is...

http://www.worldoftea.org/describing-muscatel/

There's no comparison, the first flush tastes so much better to me.

What I realized is that I prefer a black tea more on the astringent side.

The 2nd flush tea tastes bland to me, like it's "just something to drink"

The 1st flush tea makes me think about it with every sip, whatever else I'm doing.

I grew tired of most blends of tea, so switched to green tea, then chai, but couldn't quite find the flavour I was looking for until I tried a blend of green and black tea by Twinings - it's delicious! Truly refreshing.

I didn't cheat to get that answer from the following Buzzfeed quiz:

Not too surprisingly (at least for the flavor): "You got: Chocolate Chip Frappuccino

@ehBeth,
Interesting!

From Morocco, I developed a taste for mint tea, that is, green tea with mint, sweetened.

While I've searched for a decent variety here, I've come across this - although an ice tea:

This is not too bad - and is my Saturday tennis preferred drink.

The search is still on for a suitable tea combination, until it warms up a bit and I can plant some mint.

@margo,
Basilur makes a wonderful Moroccan Mint tea. I go through a lot of it at work.

If you ever see it, buy a package. Basilur make marvellous tea blends, primarily for the Russian market apparently.

I've never seen that brand - but now I work close to David Jones Food Hall. If it's anywhere around, it'll be there. Not many Russian around here.
