Strange but real story-to what extent is data hack from another pc through internet possible?

today something strange happened with me n m gonna write the full story here:
the thing is, i had some pics(nudes) of my girlfriend(with her permission) in my pc for around 1 year untill last month when i deleted them becoz i moved to another country,my gf being left behind.today i received a phone call from her.she told me that 1 of her friends called her n showed 1 of the same picture in his mobile.he told her that when he knew that her pictures were on the internet,he contacted his friends who knew hacking, to help remove the pictures.he said that they discovered that my pc had been hacked by several people in several countries.(according to them they even found every pc to which pics were transfered to n deleted them.)so he proved to my gf that he saved her from everything.

now the thing is that i knew from a long time that he liked my gf n wanted her to b his.n i also remember once i gave him a windows dvd accidently. in which i had hidden the same pics but hidden in some windows folder(which a normal person would not look for and is not easy to find.).i took back the dvd back a few hours afterwards as i realised there were pics in there.
he could not have got the pics any other way..
although he is a nice guy,never does any ones bad.
so my conclusion is that he must have explored the dvd(dont know how he knew there were pics hidden in there),copied the pics,and now when m abroad he is trying to somehow impress my girlfriend.
BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER THE STORY HE TOLD HER CAN BE TRUE OR NOT.IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR MY RELATIONSHIP,SO PLEASE HELP WITH UR ANSWERS..

@alix2020,
You think it would be hard to find image files that you had "hidden" in a Windows folder, but the truth is that using either the command line or else Windows Search a person can find every image file on a disk, in seconds. Your friend probably did that as soon as he got the disk in his computer.
You should never assume that other people know as little as you do about computers. In fact, that thought leads me to this: if you have ever used peer-to-peer filesharing software like Limewire, and you shared your whole C drive, (many people do!) that means all your files are visible, and anybody in the world can just search for picture files, Word documents, your credit card details, etc etc.

@alix2020,
It's unlikely that his story is true.

If it were that easy to delete images from servers on the Internet, the anti-porn crusaders would be going full tilt with it.

Default settings on filesharing programs do not let others delete content, either.

You screwed up, and inadvertently gave away nude pictures of your girlfriend.

Now some guy is using that to try to make time with her.

No; with torrent apps you only share files that you have have partially or completely downloaded using a torrent file.

@DrewDad,
he even said that his friends deleted the pics from pcs of those people to whom pics were transfered.. which i think is impossible..

They were probably not stolen using the Internet. Maybe your "friend" got them off the disk you lent him. As I mentioned before (did you read my earlier post?) it is easy to list all the image files on a DVD in a few seconds, no matter where you think you have "hidden" them. If your friend had an idea that such files might have been somewhere on the disk, it would have been the work of a moment to start Windows Search and find them.
