@djjd62,
I'd kind of like to take the derivative with respect to bullshit.

d(OP)/d(BS) = 0;

* If you can't handle the answer, don't ask the question.
* The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong,
but that's the way the smart money bets.
* It's easier to get forgiveness than permission.
* Dare to sound stupid.
* There isn't anybody so dumb that you cannot learn something from him.
* Don't go to bed angry with someone who can stay awake longer than you can.
* Reflect often on the wonder of it all.
* Never eat anything you can't pronounce.
* Tell the truth -- it's easier than remembering your lies.

@Diana Watta,

For self-preservation:
It better to HAVE a gun and not NEED one
than it is to NEED a gun and not HAVE one.

You don't play cards for money, and you're not interested in flushing.

You're right on both accounts. I can always blame the kids on not flushing.

@Diana Watta,
In regard to trusting people,
an engineer of extremely high intelligence
has opined that given sufficient time, EVERYONE that u trust
will eventually betray u one way or another.

I am not personally saying that is true,
but it comes from a very powerful intellect.

Its a good idea to have back-up plans, accordingly (and stashed cash) just in case.

U asked for stories:
3 years ago, a woman of my acquaintance got married in Florida.
2 years ago, that woman asked my advice. She said that she is
an heiress and had $2,500,000 in the bank. She put the account
into their names jointly. She did not intend to give him the money.

He emptied out that account and began life anew with her oldest daughter.

I 've heard that some women tell their daughters to secretly
stash cash before thay get married.

"they" make laws to keep you from doing what you want to do , not laws to keep them from doing what they want to do.
