@Chumly,
I remember driving with my parents and hearing this.

Who's peekin' out from
Under a stairway
Callin' a name
That's lighter than air?
Who's bendin' down to
Give me a rainbow?
Everyone knows it's Windy.

Who's trippin' down the
Streets of the city
Smilin' at
Everybody she sees?
Who's reachin' out to
Capture a moment?
Everyone knows it's Windy.

And Windy has stormy eyes
That flash at the sound of lies
And Windy has wings to fly
Above the clouds.
Above the clouds.

@Chumly,
I was thinking about Imur's mom's lullabye and it reminded me of one my dad used to sing to me, which I then sang to my kids- I wonder what they thought about Bill's wife dying in a poolroom fight:

David - if you still like Lullabye of Broadway you should listen to this cd:http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51R94R13D2L._SL500_AA240_.jpg

She has a lovely voice and she does songs from Broadway shows.

@Nevermind,
I remember that song too - I always loved it- and thought it came from Peter Pan- until I realized later it was totally unrelated.

@aidan,
I remember my mom playing a Martina McBride tape in the car most clearly, although there was so much music around me all the time that I can't exactly place my finger on the one I heard first.

But my favorite song off it was I Love You. I remember ordering her not to talk every time it came on. Very Happy

@iamzandra,
Just curious, at what age are you roughly referring to Zandra?

My mother singing Silver Threads Among the Gold to me. I don't know how old I was, maybe two.

- you have to wait for it to start.

Love, love me doo, you know I love you....or Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder.
Not sure what kiddie songs I first sung, maybe twinkle twinkle little star or Raggle Taggle Gypsy. I heard a lot of Irish tunes when I was small, so the fiddle was pretty common. The first song I learned to play on the piano was Good King Wenceslas ad nauseam. Didn't even have a real piano, played a toy for the first few months. I still have it, though it's missing a few keys.

@Fabulousmisses,
Funny, I can remember very distinctly going to kindergarten and hearing the alphabet song and thinking, 'All the other kids seem to already know the 'words' to this song and I have no idea what they are - but I guess I should pretend to know as everyone else seems to,' so I just mumbled along until I figured out what the heck was going on and really learned the letters of the alphabet.

Surprising really because I had an older sister and an older brother and my parents gave us all lots of attention, but that wasn't something that I'd ever heard before. I learned it really quick though.
