I am proud to be left handed.
Science has proven that the left half of the brain controls the right half of the body, and vice-versa.
So,that means left handed people are the only ones in their right minds.

My Grampy taught me how to write backwards when I was very young.....does that count, too?

that the majority of us can not use our
left hands very well, if at all
although out of entire family of
right handed people, one of my
daughters is a southpaw

What about persons who are ambidextrous?
Where do they fit in?

My father had this story about a tecaher who taught 2 classes at the same time (ie, 5th and 6th grade). Anyway, she would stand at the blackboard and write with both hands at the same time - one board for the 5th grade and one for the 6th grade!

Well, no choice is not exactly correct.
You can drive in some places which drive on the left handed side of the road, and do things in reverse. Think of England, Ireland, Oz, New Zealand. Mind you, here we have no choice.

I thought on manual cars, the set-up was pretty standard world-wide.....i.e. clutch, break and gas pedal in the same places?

Ahhhh.....I guess the gear-shift itself would have to be used left-handed. Is that right?
My Dad would let me shift for him from the passenger seat, so I guess I could do it now.
