@dadpad,
Too bad about my computer & youtube, dapad! Sad

I was wondering what Shpilki meant, too. Suspected someone was calling you names! Laughing

@dadpad,
Code:someone tagged the thread "Shpilki" which i have no idea as to the the meaning so i googled

That was me, dad. Jespah, Roboita and any number of others will recognize that one of the meanings of "shpilke" in Yiddish (German, too) is splinter.

@Rockhead,
I have no absolutely no idea of what that comment actually meant, Rockhead, but I find it deeply offensive! Evil or Very Mad

And what does it have to do with dadpad's splinter problem, exactly? Hmmmm?

I know what he meant and you have badly misinterpreted Msolga. None of those comments were in anyway directed toward you. [/quote]

In Scotland, that thing is called a "skelf".

At least, it is if it's made of wood. For a sliver of metal, I don't know. Maybe we'd call it a sliver of metal. Or a BAAASTARD

Oh I know that, dp! This was my (obviously weak) attempt at being funny! Obviously it fell very flat! Sad

Hey, Rockhead, if you have taken offense, I was just joshing! Really. I AM NOT DEEPLY OFFENDED, OK?

Here's a big hug for you Rockhead, just to prove how genuine I am! Very Happy :

<HUG>

So, dp, your thumb?

Yes, I know that. Smile

But you've still gotta get it out, right?

So off to the doctor with you tomorrow?

@msolga,
For a splinter!?

Like I said, wait till it festers up. It'll be easy to find, and probably easier to remove. Don't wait till gangrene sets in, though.

@roger,
If it was me, Roger, I'd just get the bugger removed, by what-ever means. Especially if it was causing any pain or inconvenience (say nothing of possible infection). The sooner the better!

@dadpad,
Isn't it hard to type with that splinter in your hand?

Is it out now?

I would take a needle, tweezers, whatever tools of destruction I find handy, and start mining for the thing. If I make a big hole, no matter. Got to have it out.

Tape. Sticky, sticky tape such as duct tape or white adhesive bandage tape. Put it over the splinter and leave it alone for a couple days. The splinter should come out when you pull the tape off.
