I have an hp laptop. I always pick up a signal from a router, but lately I haven't been able to get on the internet. It registers that there is a signal, but it won't let me on...any suggestions?

Are YOU bumming internet access from someone else wireless router or is this your own that you can not hook to?
If it is someone else router they might had enable either wep or wpa encoding or even mac filtering.
A little more information is call for here.
