Was it sort of floating through the tube?

Yeh, it kind of "floated" down the tube instead of just falling at normal speed. The movement of the magnet through the tube causes an electric field which resists the movement of the magnet, slowing it down. Pretty neat

Pretty neat. And only $1.5million. Might not be good if you have a pacemaker though (or anything with iron in it).
