I think most of us here are familiar with a service called Books on Tape. Raggedy and I were having fun with The NYT's Crossword puzzle whose theme was: Books on Tape as read by celebrities. Sooooooo, I thought it would be fun to see who would read what here.

I'll begin by reiterating what I suggested on fealola's "In your head" thread:

Poem on tape as read by Raggedy: "The Raggedy Man" by James Whitcomb Riley.

Lyrics on tape as read by oldandknew: " The Old Oaken Bucket"

Lyrics on tape as read by fealola: "The Old Fealola Roll Blues"

I wanna hear it again, I wanna hear it again,
The old piano roll blues.
Sittin at the upright, my sweetie and me
Pushin' on the pedals making sweet harmony.
As we hear rinkity rink and we hear plinkity plink
We cuddle closer it seems,
and while we kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss away all our cares.
The player piano's playin' arazz ama tazz.
I wanna hear it again, I wanna hear it again,
The old piano roll blues.

Lyrics by Ceili: "The Gypsy"

In a quaint caravan
There's a lady they call The Gypsy
She can look in the future
And drive away all your fears
Everything will come right
If you only believe The Gypsy
She could tell at a glance
That my heart was so full of tears
She looked at my hand and told me
My lover was always true
And yet in my heart I knew, dear
Somebody else was kissing you
But I'll go there again
'Cause I want to believe The Gypsy
That my lover is true
And will come back to me some day

That's cause Ceili knows herself as a red haired gypsy with freckles. Smile

what does bm mean???

Cool poem letty, is there a matching tune?
I like the raggle taggle gypsy'O' too...

One of my favourite writers is an english chap by the name of Terry Prachett. When I read the books, a sort of monte pythonesque world, I imagine all sorts of characters fitting in with the crowd here at A2K.
