I am thinking of going to college and choose the field of IT. But due to the economic condition of now what is the use of this degree. Are there going to be enough job for me when i graduate. The current situation is not good because the technology is hit hard by the economic crisis. i hope the situation improves quickly for me.

If you are interested in working with computers or other computer equipment (network routers, switches, voice-over-IP, etc.) then some sort of computer-related degree is very helpful.

IT, MIS, computer science, etc.

Vendor certifications are helpful as well.

Technology is with us to stay. Smart companies are still spending money on technology, because it can lower overhead. Per-worker productivity is at record levels for a reason.

If you don't think there's going to be a need for IT, then don't go into it.
