I think the song you were whistling was the Marine Corps hymn, "The Halls of Montezuma." While the first two notes aren't exactly the same, those two notes are contained in the first three notes of Halls of Montezuma, in a very similar musical phrase. I kind of think that's what song it was...

Use Shazam. I tried to whistle the first two notes but no result. I figured if you could whistle the song you may get the answer you are looking for. But let us know cause you have me wanting to know. Good luck.
