Chinese publisher admits changing Clinton autobiography
A Chinese publisher has admitted making changes to Hillary Clinton's autobiography, following claims it cut comments criticising China.
The head of Yilin Press has apologised for not clearing the changes with the US publisher of the book, by the wife of the former US president, Bill Clinton.
The company says that in the editing process, 'technical adjustments' were made to ensure an even better reception from Chinese readers.
The US publisher says 10 pages of the book were changed in the Chinese version.
The changes include the removal of a reference to the Clintons being "haunted" by the memories of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre in the Chinese capital, during an official trip to Beijing in 1998.
