Just doing a bit of research into how audiences view web pages. I have 3 questions...........

1st, which resoloution here do people generally view their web pages at?

2nd, do you view in internet explorer, netscape or some other browser?

3rd, do you view web pages full screen, eg - press F11 in Internet explorer to take the buttons away?

1) Now I'm viewing at 1152 X 1024. 800 X 600 should be your minimum. Do not forget to count for scroll bar size.

2) Internet Exploer 4, Internet Explorer 5, Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 4.78, Netscape 6, Mozilla (samething as Netscape 6), Galeon, Konqueror, Opera 6

3) Never in any browsers mention in answer 2.

1. desktop is set at 1280x960. i have my taskbar on the side instead of the bottom. even though it takes up more of the screen, putting it on the side, i'd rather view more of a webpage or document vertically than horizontally.

2. ie6 in windows, phoenix in linux

2. no.

1) 1280X1024, 32 Bit on this monitor, mostly, and tweaked with Adobe Gamma Corrector and NVidia Controls, though for some things (that don't involve fonts much Rolling Eyes ) I kick it to 1600X1200. My other machines, and my laptop, are usualy at 1024X768, 32 Bit or 1280X1024 32 Bit.

2) IE6, MSN 8, NS 7, Opera 6.0 and 7.2, and even old IE 5.5, depending on machine and what I'm doing. Some websites work better in NS than IE, but not very many. I've found Opera has problems of various sorts with a number of websites that display fine in any version of IE and most versions of NS.

3) Other than a 14.1" laptop, all my screens are 17" or larger (this one's a 21" CRT), and I rarely feel a need to use "Full Screen", even though I have scrolling tickers at tops and bottoms of the screens.
