Holy cow! The networks are gonna be scrambling this month to get specials out! I remember him mainly for "Doctor, Doctor" gimme the news, I got a bad case of loving you...and for his rock music critiques. This is indeed sad news....
I loved his voice. How sad that he's gone.
His songs were very boppable. Turn 'em up in the car. Fun stuff.
sheesh
this is another week for making me feel old
Robert Palmer was a young man.
A young man indeed. I loved the way he performed dressed in a suit and a tie. His tunes had a great beat and fun lyrics.
Young to go of a heart attack. Geez....
I remember the first time that I heard a Robert Palmer song was shortly after MTV came on the air, and they played a video for "Looking for Clues."
"It's crazy but i'm frightened by the sound of relationships, oh yeah
I swear we could put it to a better use, oh my
Do hurry baby you've forgotten how to catch a night groove, oh yeah
You told all the callers you were not amused oh i'm looking for clues
You keep insisting that nobody showed you how to use a telephone, oh yeah
Nobody's gonna give you a second chance, oh my
I don't have to make an effort now to find out where the money goes, oh yeah
Do you have to make a fuss everytime we dance
Ooh i'm looking for clues"
Tooooooo Coooooool!!!
It's sad that he's gone.
I'm 54 and a rocker so I stopped to think. This is a sub class of people that go out young. One reason I go to the gym so much, trying to outrun that Grim Reaper.
The Grim Reaper is like the surprise toy in every line of coke you did in the 70's except this is a toy that pops up and surprises you.
Supposedly Palmer lived a pretty clean life though.
Too bad. He was a talent.
There were plenty of glasses raised to him round here last night, he was a local lad.
