Ah October.
The time of year Wally makes his annual trek to some obscure corner of the country, to meet and commune with the pack of wild wolverines he was raised with.
I hope he has a grand time, he always does.
What this means for me, is that I just cleaned the kitchen counter, stovetop, floor and loaded dishes in the dishwater, and I will not have to do this for 10 days or 2 weeks.
I am about to clean all the toilets in the house. They will need no special attention for a couple of weeks.
Hallsways will be swept and carpets vacuumed. Considering we have 2 male cats whose idea of play is to re-enact crouching tiger, hidden dragon, I will have to attend to stray tufts of hair.
The television, if I even decide to turn it on for the next couple of weeks, will be mine, all mine.
I will miss Wally and welcome him back with open arms. But over his shoulder I will gaze at the house, memorizing enough details to last me until next year.
@chai2,
Are you sure you're not talking about Gus and the capybaras?
@Mame,
No, gustav hasn't written in over a month
Everyone should have a couple of Wally-free weeks a year. Enjoy.
"wally free' time is wonderful.
Everyone needs it.
and isnt it funny how wally free time ALWAYS starts with cleaning?
@Mame,
gus....wally....
they're all the same in the dark.

barnyard sounds would tip me off to at least ONE of them...
@Reyn,
like I said....
I've awoken many a morning to see that face looming over me.
