I have a great many Irish names I could list, but I hardly know many localities yet. On one side I do know the clan originally came from Normandy, through Scotland and settled in Ireland to end up in grand old USA at some point...still trying to find out. On the other side there are some rocks in Sligo which are said to be heard cryin whenever one of us passes on.
As for the others...I continue searching about.

Nice to find some irishmen gathered about...its a nice feeling

When my ancestors where coming over from Ireland and 3 brothers crossed the Mississippi, one drownded. Then there was a fight over religion so one went to Wisconsin and the other to Nebraska, the split was so deep my granddad was first of our family to visit or set into the other sides home.

Been to both types of ceilis, here and abroad and to many a feis.

On a side note, a couple of interesting irish facts.
1. Irish have wide feet
2. B+ blood is very common amoungst the irish and jewish and rare anywhere else.

My great grandmother had 11 brothers, one after the other they followed each other out to build the erie canal and all died of malaria. (I believe during the famine) 4 generations either lived or died in New York and most (the live ones) moved back 'cause they missed the mourne mountains.
My mom and dad are thinking of going back as we speak.

B+ might be good enough for the Irish, but for the Jewish, that's just not an acceptable grade! Laughing.

If Question will you come over yourself? I think you wouldn't miss it.
We used to drive across fairly often and stop at the Spelga Dam for a rest
It is one of the most scenic drives around.

What about the Rose of Tralee competition, any heats for it near you?

I have the wide size 10 feet, but I fail on the blood fact, I'm O positive

Guinness...is nectar of the Gods. Murphys...I like it, but once I have one, I'm reminded I like Guinness better. I've even been to the Guinness plant when I went to Ireland last year. Good times.

I think I'm a little part Irish.

So I walk up to chicks and say, "you've got any Irish in you?"
"No"
"Want some?"

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laughing Good one Slappy, I was at the Guinness brewery in 1973, good heavens, 30 years ago, anyway I believe it is all "remodelled", I think is the word you people use, all the old plant was in use when I was there.
I had the wife with me and she don't like Guinness so I got doubles in the bar, I think then they served a couple of rounds. Crying or Very sad
Keep laughin'.

Smile I was able to get my own name from the list;

Mag Aonghusa - Magennis or (Mac) Guinness - Co Down - the Dal
Araidhe, lords of Iveagh

Like I said my spelling of the name is most ancient, Magennis and that
Guinness taken from it, it is nice to see my post verified.
Thanks for that quinn1. Into the favourites.

i just saw this one after mac's thread.

cooney and farrell, adare limerick.
then a glennon got tossed in about 40 years ago.

from the records i've looked up and seen personally in the town halls etc i'm the last one of the cooney-farrell-glennon line.

beamish, murphy's or guinness is all fine as long as it's it's fresh.

Murphy's stout rules . . . Guiness is swill (compared to Murphy's, or Oztralia's entry, Tooth Sheaf Stout, however all beer is swill compared to porter).
