@Roberta,
Ok, a tree I can forgive, it's harder to move and might have grown on its own.

But near my last house here in Costa Rica there was a telephone pole in the middle of a street, that was really stupid.

It's a warning that panicked deer who have burst into flames are likely to run onto the road in that area.

It's really sad.

I wonder why? Is it like a lightning alley or something?

I have a different take. Dear deer angels (dead deer) are patrolling the area--so don't hit a deer and make another angel.
