lol, although not this winter... we had 12" on Dec 23 and then about 1", then 2" (you could clear the sidewalk with a broom) - wonder what's ahead for us.
I'm guessing they added this last instruction because someone, sometime, tried to use it without opening the lid and called the company to find out why it wouldn't come out?
