The Commemorative Air Force (CAF), formerly known as the Confederate Air Force, is an American non-profit organization based in Dallas, Texas dedicated to preserving and showing historical aircraft at airshows primarily throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Oh good - because I thought it was going to be a dud visit if it was displaying aircraft of the Confederate Air Force. I imagine the Union Air Force museum would be just as disappointing.

At one time the name Confederate Air Force was cute, but no more, so they changed it.

Re this sidewalk sign.

Years ago, one small but extremely busy bridge that went from downtown into South Austin was closed to pedestrians because it was getting more and more dangerous to walk. In fact, someone was killed when an SUV jumped the curb.

They built this gorgeous modern pedestrian bridge mere meters from it.
On the old bridge and barrier and sign as above was put on all 4 access points on the now vehicle only bridge.
I had to drive over that bridge at rush hour every day, and would constantly see people squeezing by the barrier.

Even years before, when I would cross that bridge when cutting from one side of the park to another, I would be terrified walking across.

Did I do this one?

That one made me snarf my coffee.
