Well, I don’t mind if I do

“Oh! but please don’t go till you have told me what it is; I’m so frightened,” said Alice, “do stay and tell me about it before you go to papa.”

“Well, I don’t mind if I do,” said the boy, sitting down again. “You must know, then, that it’s reported there are pirates on the island.”

What does "Well, I don't mind if I do' mean? Are there any punctuation errors.

Many thanks.

@tanguatlay,
“Well, I don’t mind if I do" is a type of understatement meaning something like, "I'd be happy to do such and such".

@JTT,
Yes.
Perhaps another, clearer way of expressing it
is that: "I don 't object to doing so" understatement.
That 's my best interpretation.
