Very cool.
When I was in college I lived off-off campus in a building where most of the renters were bikers. They kept a close watch over me. I never felt safer in my life. Good guys.
@boomerang,
As a general rule, outlaws excluded, Bikers have a view that most don't get till much later in life...
I think it's great. If these guys came to your house and told you you'd better get a better house for your dog, wouldn't you be inclined to do so?
LOL
All joking aside, I think this is a perfect example of the old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover".
I've had mixed experience with the biker crowd. I rented a little house from one biker guy once, and other than the fact he attached phone books to the side of the rental house and would shoot his cross bow at them - he was fine, as were his buddies. His daughter was named "Spider". In the early 80's, I lived off of 4th St. in the East Village (Hell's Angels territory back then and maybe still) for 6 months. I moved because of the drugs and fights they were so fond of, but they never personally threatened me in anyway. I just couldn't stand the screaming and cursing 24 hours a day. Ironically, my most recent encounter was when my town police raided a puppy mill a few roads over from me. The operation was traced back to a bunch of puppy mills which were all run by Hell's Angels members. Many of the dogs had to be euthanized because of illness or bad temperaments. The kennel conditions were horrendous. Good and bad in all groups, I guess.
@Green Witch,
I've had mixed experiences with bikers too. In high school they were the guys we bought drugs from. In Athens, they were a bunch of funny guys who kept our bar safe.....
@OGIONIK,
But do those tatooed dogs hunt?
I saved the photo of the man in the car holding the kitten and I am using it as a background on my desktop.
Love it .
@shewolfnm,
I noticed they mentioned a person from the Humane Society, but then he/she wasn't mentioned again. My guess is that they were from HSUS, who has the NYT wrapped around their blame finger, and they didn't do anything but tag along, which is typical for them. No great animal stories to drum up contributions with, so they don't lift a finger to help.
@OGIONIK,
Outstanding! As the mother of 2 bikers I can honestly say these are a great group of people! Cool tats too!
