Hey guys,

Lately I've been hearing some songs on the radio and when i actually listen to the lyrics I find that some have a lot of meaning to me. I searched A2K to see if there was a thread about it and couldn't find one. So what I want to do is start a thread where everyone who finds a song to be meaningful to them or just in general a meaningful song and post it. You can explain why if you would like or you can just write the songs name and singer/band .

*Also lease no hating on peoples choice of music, it is up to them to choose what they like and listen to, not you so please respect peoples choices*

I'll start with my top 10. ( In any order )

Innocent - Our Lady Peace
Happy Birthday - Flipsyde
The Freshmen - Vervepipe
Pictures of you - The last Goodnight
Changes - 2pac
Always on my mind - Tiki Ta'ane
Tears in heaven - Eric Clapton
Time won't let me go - The Bravery
Moving Mountians - Usher
Little Wonders - Rob Thomas

To me, that's what makes the best kinda music thread. No stoppin anyone from playin what their hearts singin. No matter what it is. Thank you!

Wonderful Tonight

I dated a guy that was lead singer in a band. He attracted girls like a magnet...but I was the lucky one that got to be in his life. He was just a wonderful, caring, loving, kind of person. This is one song that he sang to me a lot. I have a whole host of songs that he wrote for me and put to music and sang also. My favorite one called "Like A Brooke." Anyhow, I loved him tremendously. He died in a car accident on his way to my house one night. Never got to say goodbye. That keeps closure at bay, really. I always feel like he's close by. And knowing him, he probably is...in spirit.

Excellent idea for a topic.

Here are some from when I lost my job in 2006. That was just a sad time because I just loved the people so much (we're all friends and we all still see each other). Plus the company was bought and it all just seemed like an unfortunate end of an era.

The last day at the office: Walls Come Tumbling Down by The Style Council: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I29aPBkEc0Y (perfect lyric: They take the profits, you take the blame) and also by them, How She Threw it All Away (couldn't find it anywhere online but the perfect lyric is: Don't shed no tear, there's no need to cry)

This (Brian Wilson by The Barenaked Ladies) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udmQBRWYaZc is from a month or so afterwards; the greatest description of depression I have ever heard in a song.

But this is what I played when we first all got together again (there's a beach party every year, and I DJ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm4iU0yx9GY (Tubthumping by Chumbawamba).

I was at a funeral for a friend and this song was used in the eulogy ---Turn Turn Turn

It was written (the words are almost verbatim from Ecclesiastes) in the 50's by Pete Seger and made popular in the 60's by the Byrds, but this Judy Collins cover comes closer to what prompted this poignance.
