Hello friends!
I pay for a DSL line with 10 mb/s download and 10 mb/s upload. Those speeds tested ok.
I use utorrent. I have 404 completed various files that I am seeding, of which 130 are active I currently download about 30 files.
Of my 10 mb/s upload bandwith, only 1150 kb/s is used at any one time. uploading about 130 files simultaneously. Only 1/10 of my available upload speed is being used. even though i have set unlimited upload speed in utorrent. Why? What a waste! 90 % of the upload speed is being idle! I would like to use a greater % of the upload speed globally and also per torrent in order to better contribute to the general health of torrents P2P. I have tried all sorts of settings in utorrent, even multiplied by 10 my declared speeds in the installation of utorrent, but do not get any effective increase of upload speed.
Can somebody experience in that help me to find a solution? It looks like utorrent cannot handle greater upload speed. i would be willing to use another lightweiht program but I doubt there is any other more efficient. i tried Azureus, but it crashed a least once everyday and is resources hungry.
I am all ears! Thank you!
And lets remember. we are only sharing when our computer is switched ON!
Do note that there can be multiple bottlenecks, including disk speed, wi-fi speed, the speed of the pipe on the other ends of the upload etc and that you may not ever be able to reach your ISP advertised speed.
