I know some of you know this already but I was talking to a couple of people who were unaware, so here's the info in case you're one of those:

Computer - download SKYPE for free. You can talk via computer and headset to any other person's computer (that has SKYPE) for FREEEEEE. You can also add phone numbers and it's 0.21 cents a minute. CHEAP.

YAK - don't know if you have this is in the States, but sign up for YAK, then sign up for YAK Callback. They'll give you a number (computer) which you'll dial (and hopefully enter into your cell). You'll get a busy signal, so hang up. About 30 seconds later, your phone will ring. An automated voice comes on, dial the number you want to call AND DON'T PRESS SEND because the line's already open. Voila.

I love free stuff.

when we are phoning germany we use 10 10 7 10 (via bell canada) and pay $1 (ONE) for a 30 minute call - that's cheaper than mailing a letter .
our older relatives in germany don't have computers , so skype is out .
we started by using phone cards but found the sound quality pretty poor . also , only one person could speak at the time or we'd get a "cut-out" .

hbg, that's fantastic - does it work on land lines as well as cell phones?

You could run a 1 900 business quite well with this set up and make a pretty penny..

mame :
i don't know if 10 10 7 10 works on cell phones - i know it does NOT work for users that use cable phone service (our friends) .
google for "cheap cell phone service" and you'll get a bunch of offers .

Mame have been using SKYPE for years! Talk to my relatives overseas, and my grandchildren who live far away. Add the webcam with it and you're made, have saved myself thousands of dollars in phone fees!

We should skype each other... that's how I'm talking to the British people. It's wonderful.
