Hi there,
I'm having some problems hooking up to the internet at work. During night shifts we the staff have always brought our laptops in to use rather then the desktop work pc. I just noticed that we can no longer just plug in and receive the net as we had done before. Is it possible to make the internet connection only work in the desktop? We were unplugging the ethernet cable from it and plugging directly to our laptops. My laptop now says it can't find the default gateway? I'm usually pretty good on computers which is why I am thinking there must be some sort of block on it that recognizes certain i.p's or something if thats possible....Is it possible? Or is there some way I can "fix" my Default gateway?
Thanks!
Was this laptop use done with your employer's permission?
Well the employer knows if thats what you mean. He sees us every morning and has never said anything.
The question was "Is it possible to make the internet connection only work in the desktop?" Thanks.
So why don't you ask the company's IT guys?

Yes, of course. But it could also be due to bad TCP/IP settings on the laptop.

It was 3am when I posted.....our IT guy is def not around then.....so for the time being I mainly wanted to know if a block was possible.....and Robert has quickly assured that it is.
Thanks Robert
