I lost most of a tooth the other day, and am off to the dentist today.

I don't see that they can possibly do anything with it, so I suspect it's coming out today, or at an appointment in the next few days.

I have never had a tooth out....I have never had ANYTHING out!!!!

I have my wisdom teeth, tonsils, adenoids, appendix and every goddam thing I was born with.

I am a pathetic coward, and **** scared.

I need a hug!!!

I know that's pathetic.....BUT I DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awwww. (hug) I recall my first visit to have a tooth out. The anticipation was worse than the actual experience.

Awww!! Big hugs and all the babying you need!! Totally!!

Just had my first tooth EVER yanked last week. Won't lie. Take the Tylenol or whatever is your painkiller of choice for when that freezing wears off.

The actual thing - not so bad. It's later that I didn't like.

Poor bunny. Let us know how it goes.

Poor baby Dlowan, here's a huggy wuggy...

I've only had a wisdom tooth out, not terrible that I remember. (Oh, and tonsils and adenoids, but that was in the dark ages.)

I have tranquilizers.........I need pain stuff too?

What happens? Do all my teeth gradually move until my front teeth have migrated a tooth's width to the right?

I'LL LOOK RIDICULOUS(er)!!!!!!!

To the huggers, thank you.

To the 21 (and counting) people who looked, snered, and left........karma lives....

I woke up at 2 am one day in tears and screaming.
I had an infection in my back tooth that finally made its way to the root.

THIS from someone who's dental hygiene is like a nervous habit.
I brush and floss more then any normal person should.
I had no clue what was going on and I was in some real ******* pain.

To the ER and they informed me that they do not remove teeth, but the doctor gave me a generous amount of pain meds so that I could wait for a dentist to open in a few hours.

I was scared to death to have my tooth pulled and actually begged the dentist to only give me a root canal to save my tooth.

She laughed at me... openly ( not in a rude way..) and asked me if I knew how much a root canal would hurt compared to a tooth removal.

Then she informed me from my X rays that the tooth could not be saved.

I balled for about 20 minutes uncontrollably. She said that it was no big issue. They deaden the tissue around the tooth AND give me a very hefty shot of pain medicine and then use a pair of pliar like tools and just pull it out.

Well THAT little speech did nothing to soothe my nerves at all .

So she gave me the shot AND some ativan or something like that.

After an hour she got me in a chair and propped open my mouth and I began balling again.

I was crying so hard I did not feel the tooth come out.
I felt her pull... I felt the tension of her strength..

but..
well..

I was embarrassed at being so damn scared of nothing..

I cried.

I screamed

I was cussing up a storm

I yelled at her assistant

I told her she had no idea what she was talking about and that she was wrong for telling me I had to remove a tooth

I told her I was lying and that everything was fine.. just let me go home

I cried some more

When it was all done and over, I think I hugged her.. then apologized. Embarrassed

Crying's allowed.

Set survived a tooth-pulling without the big drugs, but I don't recommend that.

If they'll do a topical anaesthetic where they're going to do the big freeze, encourage them to do that. It helps quite a bit.

If you can, arrange to have someone bring you home afterward.

Don't be skeert, bunny! I've had five teeth pulled, and even for me, a big cry baby, it really wasn't that bad. I don't recommend having four done on one day, though, that wasn't much fun Smile

The actual pulling isn't a big deal particularly; then afterward just go home, dope yourself up, and go to sleep.

Oh, and I just remembered how important it is for bunnies to take care of their teeth! You don't want your molar growing up through the roof of your mouth and into your brain, now do you? I can syringe feed you afterward if you want, I have lots of practice handling your kind...I can turn you over and stroke your tummy and make you go into a trance.
