Well, the fact that rock and roll lost three huge talents. The music died. After that came Frankie Avalon and the like. Those guys just sang, they did not write their own music, or play an instrument. Rock came back with the Beatles.

He is/was a singer, "a heart-throb" for teens. Good to look at, some voice and was in alot of meaningless beach films.

Hi Tyrius,

Welcome to able2know!!

I'm not sure if you really want any Frankie Avalon albums,..they were kind of hard to take back then. Laughing

Those "Frankie and Annette" beach party movies were alot of fun though, they were always on tv on saturday afternoons, after creature feature!

Oh, here's a link to some "American Pie" info:

Don't waste your money on Frankie Avalon and I'm and sure Max would agree. If you want to chronicle popular rock n roll from the starting point of where white people caught on and started stealing and popularizing rock, pick up Early Elvis Sun records, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran. Bill Haley and The Comets if you must.

Chuck Berry and Little Richard are a total must for you.

Just a suggestion. Max, do you concur?

btw not to be a wise ass, but it's Don McClean.

Welcome to Able 2 Know. We are all brilliant here, so I'm sure you'll fit right in. Cool Very Happy

They do, more than you know. My fifteen year old son went through a few years of listening to rapcrap and ...I can't even remember the titles. His cd collection has alot of sixty stuff. He has alot of Lenny Kravitz, who in my opinion is a fine musician.

If you want a real laugh, find a sound byte of FABIAN, a contemporary of Frankie Avalon who had 15 BIG minutes and then dropped like a rock.

You'll laugh, you'll cry.

......He also has Nirvana. But he hates any Nirvana except the "unplugged " cd. One time we watched a repeat of that performance on tv. He said "it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion".
