I like Cohen, but I'm not partial to his rendition of his own song.

I've always prefered Cale's version...

I'm a little late to the party but this version of Hallelujah is held in high esteem in Oz. Not for its musical value which is not brilliant but for its inspirational value.
The choir of hard knocks is formed of street and disadvantaged people from Melbourne and featured in a doco on TV.
