NPR this evening paid homage to Jerry Adler, harmonica player, who died earlier this month at 91. The Baltimore native made his living off of that instrument, as did his brother, since he was 15.
He played on the scores for the westerns Shane and High Noon as well as Mary Poppins. He joined with his brother on many more "classical" pieces, including a lot of George Gershwin.
May I put in a request that you play something with him? I still can't recall how to do links. Thanks.
