this has not been a good day...

ended up with my front fender embedded in some nice lady's door.

and I gotta Honda with the tranny out of it in my workspace. (that's where I was going, the parts store)

met some very nice cops, much better than the last posse...

her car will get fixed pronto.

mine will have to wait on me...

I keep telling myself **** like this builds character. (but i'm not so sure I need any more of that...)

What JPB said, Rockymoose. Just Brooke, so glad that your dad is okay and I love Blowin' in the Wind, gal.

Don't you hate the expression, "That which doesn't kill me makes me stronger"?

"cheer up; things could be worse; so I did and they were."

Another highway song by Jim Croce.

Hey, edgar and I could have played more disco. Had no idea that Billy Preston's song, Jo Jo was disco, buddy.

Melanie and the Edwin Hawkins Singers performing Lay Down (Candles in the Rain). The song is about the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

@wandeljw,
welcome back, wandel. (you are dressed rather snazzy today. compliments to the wife...)

thought I shoold pop in and reiterate...

I'm not ignoring anyone, nor am I mad at any a2kers, per se. (no more than normal anyhow)

just trying to fix some life **** before it is so broke it cannot be repaired.

So...

been working to get this damned Honda done, so's I got some bill money, and working out some kinks in a good kid while I wrench. He dint wanna go home tonight, asked if I would call and tell his mom I needed him late. (no)

He likes hisself again, and has a new girlfriend to boot.

Twas not but a few months back that he half-ass tried to end things. Amazing what a bit of perspective and some self respect can do for ya...

Introduced him to Joe the other night, and now that is all we listen to while we work. (no complaints here)

apparently we have been overrun by the borg. (or droids or something)

if they are any good with Chevrolet pick-up crash repair, please send them my way.

Honda is all but done, no extry bolts (always a good sign)

tomorrow I will drive it out, and then start to see what is required for to be mobile again myself...

now a different version of my favorite Joe song, for a far away friend who's having a tough time with some things right now.

Tickets go on sale Saturday for the 2010 Crossroads festival. Thinking about it brought back a lot of memories from the 2007 event.

Here's one from late in a very long but wonderful day.

Quote:
Nearly 30 of those favorites are confirmed for the June 26th show, which will feature Clapton in a headlining set with his own band and, if previous festivals are any indication, jamming with many of his guests as well. Returning veterans of the first two Crossroads shows include Jeff Beck, Robert Cray, B.B. King, the great Rick Nelson and Elvis Presley sideman James Burton, Jimmie Vaughan, Sheryl Crow, Los Lobos, ZZ Top, Steve Winwood, gospel-steel phenomenon Robert Randolph and one of Clapton’s personal heroes, Louisiana slide-guitar ace Sonny Landreth. “He’s a giant to me " his thing is so perfect,” Clapton says of Landreth. “When we send the invites, he’s the first guy that always comes back, the next day: ‘I’m in, what do you want me to do? I’ll open the show.’ Absolutely no bones with that guy.”
