So Far Away ... Dire Straits
I just cracked open a bottle of Wild Turkey (they don't carry the good stuff at the grocery market) The Lady Diane is asleep and I spend some of the day in the garden picking up leaves from last fall, Sally dog is asleep along side of Dante cat and I am listening to Ian and Sylvia with Judy Collins. I'm pretty sure this song was written about me (ok so I lie) but I did meet Ian and Sylvia in Calgary back sometime in the 60's.

There were 3 Fillmore's (west in San francisco, east in NYC and Denver.
only Fillmore Denver still exists) I all but lived there for a few years seeing Carlos Santana, Country Joe etc when it was called Mammoth Gardens
The Fillmore Auditorium is an auditorium located on Colfax Avenue and Clarkson Street in Denver, Colorado, United States. Founded in 1999, it is used for performances of live music. It is named after The Fillmore, a famous establishment in San Francisco.
The building opened in 1907 as a skating rink, serving several different functions over the decades following. In 1969, it was bought by Stuart Green, with the intent of "emulating Bill Graham's Fillmore". Under the name Mammoth Gardens, the venue hosted such powerful names as The Who and The Grateful Dead, but it was closed in October 1970. By the 1990s, it was operating as the Mammoth Events Center, hosting a mix of public and private functions. Finally, under new ownership, it was renovated and reopened as The Fillmore Auditorium in 1999.
Funny story is that across the street from Mammoth Gardens was a strip joint that the owner filled a complain with the city of Denver complaining that the rock must venue was driving away his customers with the end result being that (Syd King's bar was closed as a public nunuisance while Mammoth Gardens was remodeled)
I may post later about the Denver Folklore Center/Bob Dylan/Judy Collins/Joan Baez.

Dubbed Australia's first super group Axiom was formed in '69 from remnants of The groop and the Twilights.
Axiom featured leading lights Glen Shorrock and Brian Cadd.
Arkansas Grass was Axiom's first hit.
A very much older wiser and more experienced Brian Cadd reprises the bands first hit.
