I lived in Mesa Az for a few years, this time of year is fantastic, I used to take a drive up Apache Trail from Apache Junction to Globe and then back home at least one day every week this time of year.

I lived out a song once 'bout this time of year. Saw the most beautiful sunrise ever, before I started walkin' into Winslow from the damn desert.

That drive is on my to-do list ... I've heard it's pretty fantastic.

Climbing to the top of Superstition Mountain is also on that list. (Maybe find that gold mine .... )

This is the view out my front door, dys ...

And a little music to go along with that pic ...

excuse my segue but from the east end of Apache trail you can turn north and go through San Carlos Apache Reservation (where the gov't sent the people of Geronimo's tribe) and then right into White Mountain Apache Reservation (also known as Ft Apache) incredible scenic drive. From the Superstition Mtns thru the White Mtns is an amazing experience and I will be taking Walter on that drive when he is here in May.

JPB - Jan was my physics lab partner. Well, for one day, that is. He dropped the class or at least that lab. I should have dropped it myself.. (I was dumb enough in physics without being the only one without a lab partner. The TA was Russian and I understood nothing of his english..)

It's probably more NE than due north, but that would be difficult to tell from that pic.
