Lets learn a new word...

Slander

A type of defamation. Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because slander is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. If the statement is made via broadcast media -- for example, over the radio or on TV -- it is considered libel, rather than slander, because the statement has the potential to reach a very wide audience.

Anyone wish to discuss?

I can't post this on the other thread out of respect for it and I will back up BBB's position.

You already know my position as I have given it to you via PM in the past. I like Walter, and it's hard to swallow that which is supposed to be SO BAD...but swallowed up in secrecy.

Someone can say something about someone and REFUSE to give them facts....but once it's laid out in a crowd of people....then the secrecy becomes nothing but pure bullshit.

I like you, Rock. You're a friend and I hope that doesn't change. BUT...

My take is that the parties involved in this need to ..back it up ...or shut up.

Time to lay it out......resolve it....and move on.

But what the hell do I know.

Brooke, this was a personal situation that began some time ago that I kept personal until such time as there was a public request for contact information. Soon after the ABQ gathering I contacted some of the attendees and suggested they not provide contact information should Walter ask for it. They responded that he already had asked and that they had declined. The ONLY reason this discussion is occurring publicly is because Walter has publicly requested contact information. It's gone beyond giving a couple people attending a gathering a heads up that all is not well with the world.

If you and others don't like the approach I've taken then I accept that as your opinion. But, I think you would be the first person to acknowledge that an abuser (or stalker in this case) is the last person that anyone would suspect, no?
