This is slick. I typed in my home address, clicked "Street View" and then
when I clicked on the little orange man, I was looking right into my
driveway.
There's been a bit of a brouhaha about privacy, I hear.
last time i checked, they had only done Bahstin proper and hadn't yet extended to the 'burbs...
you can just see a little piece of the west wall of our house...
i noticed they also added a "Terrain" feature...
They've got most of the closer ones.
That must have taken a whole heck of a lot of driving around.
It doesn't have it for my address...
probably just as well though
I was all over this feature when Phoenix was added ... back in October I think. Pretty cool feature, and very handy. Terrain feature pretty neat as well.
Privacy concerns are fairly minimal, I'd think.
judging from the amount of greenery, i'd say the shot was taken in june or july...
Post your address...then we can all peak at your driveway!
You think that's intrusive, check out zillow.com.
thats incredible....I just checked out zillow.com and It SHows Real estate information on all homes in my neighborhood...it knows what homes are sold,For how much,Photos and tons more.....
Scary whats on the internet now a days.
I wonder if it is like google earth.
Dont quote me on this.. but.. I heard that google earth's images ( when you zoom in on a private residence) is from about 2 years ago.
Apparently it is a way to keep peoples privacy, while allowing others to use the zoom feature..
I dunno, I was just able to pull up Street View for my house
and the tree in front is the right size, but without autumn foliage. I'm guessing that the image is 3 or so months old. Oy.
Okay, using the links on this thread, I have discovered the address and phone number of an old boyfriend, seen the house from satellite, and now know the house's worth...
Yes, I think it's a little frightening what you can easily find out over the internet.
For alot of people, knowing just their name can produce blogs, photo albums and jobs.
And I'm not even high tech.
Scary.
Course, using the street level on Google, I "walked" down south street in Philly. That was pretty cool.
how do i use google street ?
is it a program?
google map link
There's a new button that says street level. Clicking on it, gives you blue streets and a little yellow guy that you can click on.
But only some places have the street level. Look for the camera icon...

yep -- that's definitely from this year...
the hibiscus is in bloom, so it was prolly taken sometime in august...
We will catch up before the apocolypse.....
Nothing to see here, anyway...

Snood, it is only available for certain areas that show a camera. It is not available for Canadian cities, but is available for many U.S. cities.
