I really want to save for the future but I've been encountering many distractions like buying loads for my celfone & Surfing the internet everyday for 12 hours w/o meals!!!... PLEASE give me your best advice...10 Q & MERRY CHRISTMAS.......
You might want to read the book "The Richest man in Babylon" by George Clason. I imagine any good library would have a copy.
In a nutshell - pay yourself first. Save 10% of your take home pay right off the top, and live off of the other 90%.
Put your money into accounts where you will suffer a serious penalty for withdrawl -- for a long term. Then, aside from the bank statements, do your best to forget it's there. Also, your employer may have a savings or retirement program. Get in on that and the money will be removed from your paycheck -- you won't even see it.
You cannot retire on ringtones. You need to get some discipline in this area.
