Carol (Carroll)

Quote:
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

In other news, Wikipedia has entries for lists of fictional pigs and cultural references to pigs.

Who knew?

Osso--

Such a happenstance, two A2K members of the same generation dealing with cloven-hoofed Yard Art in the same week.

Pity there isn't a third pig out there so we could triangulate.

My pig was made in China, but she undoubtedly has Celtic roots. She's a beast of both rage and plenty, a frolicksome, toothsome animal totem.

I considered "Mu Shu" as a name, but discarded it. There is more to this pig's nature than Pork Alone.

Perhaps your pig is more Spanish or Moorish?

Walter--

Until we get another bright pink porker, your pigs can hold down the European sector of the triangle. I like "La Rosa", but for someone else's pig.

Mame--

A dear friend of mine was named "Wilburta". (After an uncle). She died last year and would appreciate being immortalized in symbolic flesh, but I'd hate to tie her spirit down to my backyard.

Calamity Jane--

Felicita? Too dainty for this pig. Even with the wings she has a distinctly earthy nature.

Solipsister--

Propinquity? Please elucidate.

EhBeth--

I used to have a cat named Persephone. Can you put your fine mind to Celtic myth?

DrewDad--

Punny man.

Jes--

Alate? For an important date?

Patiodog--

Calliope? Muse of Epic Poetry?

***************

I've been thinking about Queen Titania, hoodwinked by a chauvinist, enamoured of an ass. I don't think my pig has problems seeing reality clear and true.

Queen Mab--according to W.S., a recognized authority, was one of those itty-bitty members of the fey. My pig is not a creature of winsome glamour.

Glorianna? Evidently that's a gaming world these days.

A strange device....Excelsior?

She really should be named by sundown.

You want a celtic name - how about Vanora, or Rowena.
I like Imogen too, or Kendra, or Maura. I really like Maura the best!

Calamity Jane--

I like "Kendra" and "Maura" but neither is absolutely right.

The wind is shifting and she keeps turning into the wind. I like the way she's facing fate.

You may have noticed that I can be as allusive as Osso?

This being the case, I voted "Queen Mab."

I've a feeling you are more Titania to Mr. Noddy's Bottom.

Soz--

We must have been posting at the same time.

Circe doing lab work on the limitations of the porkine form?

This babe is not a goddess of Olympian stature. She's a local deity.

DrewDad--

I confess to a bit-too-much Titania in my nature. She can be very very bitchy.

Mr. Noddy is more like Oberon than like Bottom the Weaver.

BONNIE.

BONNEY, Maude Rose 'Lores' O.B.E.: 1897 - 1994

Australian pioneer pilot Lores Bonney, who began flying in 1931 was the first pilot to fly between Brisbane and Capetown, South Africa and the first female pilot to fly from Australia to England at a time when most people believed that a woman's place was in the home.

Propinquity - perfect pinguid pink, apropos perchance ready: wings wild, blue, wondering whether you will call her near when the sky's allegory.

I'd call her before breakfast.
