At a college stepshow that I attended last weekend, there was a contest where people had to perform the steps to a seemingly popular rap song. I didn't catch the name of the song or any the lyrics but there was a mention of 'superman' over and over again. Last night while channelsurfing, I came upon Jimmy Kimmel and caught the tail end to this same song and it looked as if a part of his crew had been doing the steps because a woman 'won' a prize of some kind and, does anyone know what this song is? Or the dance they're doing? is it a video?
Help me get hip. I feel old and out-of-touch. Very Happy

Was it "Superman" by Eminem?

I don't know why anyone listens to that cr*p, but everyone to their own...

To me, Rap is spelled with a C at the beginning.

Quote:

[Dina Rea:]
Mmmhh

[Eminem:]
You high baby?

[Dina Rea:]
Yeahh...

[Eminem:]
Yeah?

[Dina Rea:]
hahaha..Talk to me...

[Eminem:]
You want me to tell you somethin?

[Dina Rea:]
Uh huh...

[Eminem:]
I know what you wanna hear...
'Cuz I know you want me baby I think I want you too...

[Dina Rea:]
I think I love you baby...

[Eminem:]
I think I love you too...
I'm here to save you girl,
Come be in shady's world,
I wanna grow together,
Let's let our love unfurl.
You know you want me baby,
You know I want you too,
They call me Superman,
I'm here to rescue you,
I wanna save you girl,
come be in Shady's world...

When one sees the spelling of these songs (!), one can't help but wonder whether, many kids pass the writing portion of the SATs today.

Duplicating Soulja Boy's dance steps is the latest dance craze at stepshows.

Here's the lyrics to the song:

Quote:
"Crank Dat Soulja Boy"

Chorus

Verse1
Soulja Boy up in dis (oooohhh)

I lean to the left and crank that thang now YUUA!

oh Jesus, lighten up.

Every generation has nonsense music and dances. The Etruscans probably got jiggy doing some called the Dionysius Hammer Throw after a few jugs of wine.

Think back on when you were in you teens and 20's.

Buncha snobs.

So, eoe, was the Soulja Boy song the one you were looking for? Last night's Jimmy Kimmel episode was a repeat according to many websites so couldn't track it that way for you.

Butrflynet, that's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks! I've been looking off and on for it all week.

There were two little kids in the contest last week, a little girl and an even younger boy, about six or seven, wearing flip flops and maybe just a beat behind everyone else. He was adorable and of course, he and the little girl tied for the prize.

This is our local marching/stepping troupe...they are drawn from several different towns and school districts in the Bootheel area. I don't know much about the program, it's fairly new...but they tend to be the highlight of most parades.
