It's a wonder some of us function as adults in the real world at all.

oooooo.....Tell, Tell!!!!

I don't always see telling these "I can't believe that happened" stuff as a negative, or feeling sorry for yourself. Like you said, it can be a tribute that we came out all right.

I don't hold any anomosity (anymore) toward my mother...We all make our own lives, and can break away from the ways we wrere taught. I did. On the other hand, I don't hold to this "Oh...he/she didn't know any better and were doing the best they could"

Frankly, neither of my parents did the best they could, and they knew it, but didn't want it called to their attention.

So, raise my hair.

My grannie used to say "In everythin' y'do, you should be givin' it six nowt", which means that you should give it maximum effort.

All very well, until I reached drinking age and lost a year or two.

Yes I did. Right after I told you the one about how my neighbor gave me all those porno magazines in a paper bag when I was 6 to take home to my father. Old Ray told me it was some stuff for my dad to read while he was home with a cold.

It was my fault I was such a nosy Parker and looked in the bag.

You're silly Wally.
