Sure we're breathing, eating and sleeping. So, we're alive. But when do we feel most alive (not necessarily most enjoyable; just most alive)? Eating? Reading? Watching a favorite tv program? Involved in sports? A hobby?
For myself, taking a long walk.
No one chime in with 'off a short pier."
Me.
In the middle of a long run or at the end of any race.
or, most especially, and this is so corny,
when I see my sweetie curled up in her chair while Max the Cat watches her type away on her laptop.
Joe(that means I've made it home again, brother.)Nation
i feel most alive getting a really good work-out on a warm, humid evening...
the opposite would be when the alarm goes off monday morning
Writing fiction.
Dancing with a shitload of people.
Making girls laugh.
Right?
Not always on purpose.
When I'm running for my life. It hardly ever happens though. That sucks.
When dancing with death. The old hag knows some pretty fancy steps. During the dance you have no time to ponder and must surrender to the lady's charms. Afterwards, at the punch bowl, and when your pulse has returned to normal its better than a peanut and honey sandwich.
on stage, during performance.
also, with best friends and with my sister.
on a daily basis, after the sun sets.
and when somebody dances with me and lots of people and makes me laugh.

Oh dear! Poor kickycan! Having trouble getting even a mugger to go after him......
Water does it for me. Number one most alive moment: On a boat on a fjord in Norway. Number two: Sailing off the coast of Maine.
Also roller coaster and other similar rides do it for me. I love speed. My avatar ain't a cheetah for nuttin'.
Early morning. I'm usually up before dawn. I love to hear the birds begin to sing, see the darkness begin to lift, smell the coffee aromas, and generally enjoy the first few minutes of the day in solitude before real life takes over and grabs my attention.
One time I remember I have felt more alive than normal was when I corrected a spelling mistake on a billboard with graffiti to show off to an language geek ex-girlfriend just a few months ago.
And I feel very alive when a design or a painting is well in progress. (I'll have to get back to doing more of that. Though design comes up in a lot of daily life decisions.)
